Workshop FAQs
Is there an age limit?
The workshops are open to anyone 15 yrs and up, unless in a private booking which are open to all ages over 7yrs. (Under 15yrs must be accompanied by an adult with their own registered spot.)
How many people can attend wheel throwing workshops?
The wheel throwing workshops are for 2 people as we are limited by the number of wheels in the studio. The workshops must have 2 people booked to take place.
How many people can attend Paint nights and handbuilding workshops?
The Squamish workshops are for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 people due to space. The studio is cozy but can comfortably accommodate 6 people to spread out and create. If you are looking for a workshop for more than 6 people please contact direct and we can discuss options. The Whistler Paint workshops can accommodate up to 16 people (minimum of 6 people).
What happens if I book a workshop but the minimum number of attendees isn't reached?
In the event that the minimum number of attendees is not reached by the cut off date ( 2 days prior to the workshop) you will be notified by email and will receive a full refund or the opportunity to move to a future date.
Where is it located?
The workshops take place in the Squamish studio unless stating otherwise. The address will be emailed to you once registered.
What time of day are the workshops?
Each workshop will have the time displayed in the description. Most workshops are planned for after-work hours.
Is there parking?
There is street parking available in the surrounding area. Please ensure to check signage where you park as some areas are 2 hour parking.
When can I collect my piece?
For handbuilding and "Date-night" workshops your piece will be ready 3 to 4 weeks after. It takes this long due to drying time. The piece has to be fully dry before firing, then glazed and second fired. You will be emailed once your masterpiece is ready!
For mug painting your piece will be ready one week after the event.
For the wheel workshops your pieces should be ready 1 week after the last class and you have 2 weeks to collect your work.
What if I turn up late?
The front door will be locked once the workshop has begun. Please allow plenty of time to arrive, you are welcome in to the studio 15 minutes prior to the workshop starting.
What if I need to cancel/ reschedule?
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way. For all 1 time workshops We offer cancellation up to 48hrs prior (with full refund minus a $10 processing fee) Please email to cancel with as much notice possible. Rescheduling is possible if there is space in another workshop.
For the series workshops (beginner wheel throwing) we require 7 days notice prior to the first session for cancelation. Rescheduling is possible if there is space in another workshop.
Can I make up a session if I miss a week in a series workshop?
We ask students to only register in a 4 week class if they can commit to the entire sequence. Due to the limited number of wheels we cannot add a participant to another ongoing class.
Can I combine the handbuilding and painting workshops?
At the moment these workshops are ran as separate events due to timing. If you want to paint your creation please discuss during the workshop as we will accommodate if possible for a future paint night.
What should I wear/ what to bring?
Please wear something comfortable that you dont mind getting a bit of clay on. Aprons will be provided for paint nights, for the series classes we recommend you bring an apron and hand towel.
